Responsibilities
NORTHSTAR Travel Media, LLC, the global leader in business-to-business publishing for the travel/hospitality industry, is seeking a Front End Developer to work in our Secaucus, NJ office.

Responsibilities:
This position will work closely with senior designers and developers, product managers and business associates to design and build electronic products. The creation of design prototypes, wireframes and mock ups include graphic design, site navigation, and layout. The position will maintain, conceptualize, design, develop and implement web pages, client advertisements, marketing material, targeted landing pages, newsletters, email, along with other electronic based products. Position will require a strong understanding of current web design best practices, styles and methodology and will provide technical support to the web production department and at times marketing.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Only portfolios with web/interface design will be considered
• Flash Animation skills are a must
• Knowledge of cross-platform design and scripting with the ability to cross-browser test and debug websites.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design processes, usability principles and information architecture
• Solid design skills including Web Page layout, image selection, Ad banner creation, typography and use of color.
• Experience and advanced knowledge of CSS and HTML, along with JavaScript and XML
• Flash (8 professional, MX and MX2004) Action Script 2 and Action Script 3
• Must be able to code HTML without the use of a WYSYWIG program.
• Experience and advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Image Ready and/or Fireworks
• Animated Banner Creation and Web Optimization skills
• Experience or training in Visual Basic
• Working knowledge of traditional layout/design programs including In Design, Quark and Illustrator.
• Problem solving skills with the ability to research and provide various solutions.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
• Must adhere to strict project deadlines while managing multiple tasks

Desired But Not Required:
• Knowledge of current social media trends
• Working with and in a CMS
• Experience with web technologies and development and deployment of web-based applications in a Microsoft environment is a plus
• Working knowledge of JQuery
• Open Source environment (LAMP)
• Stored Procedures
• SQL
• Relational Databases
• ASP
• .Net

We require 1-2 years of experience in web design and development as well as a BS degree in computer science or the equivalent. Previous work in a media or publishing company is a plus.
